Our Policies

Deposit Policy
All Reservations require an advanced credit card deposit equal to the first night’s lodging.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made with at least 72 hours notice receive a full refund of the prepaid deposit. Cancellations received with less than 72 hours notice forfeit the full deposit.

Early Departure/Delayed Arrival & Late Check-outs
Deposits may be subject to a $25 fee if either arrival date is later or departure date is earlier than confirmed. Complimentary late check-out until noon is available, and must be arranged through the Front Desk.

Check-In & Check-Out
Check in time is any time after 4pm on the day of your arrival. If you will be arriving later than 10pm, please call to let us know.

Check out time is by 11am on the day of your departure. See above for Late Checkout policies.

Balance of Payment
Balance of payment is due upon checkout, and may be paid with Cash, Visa, Discover, MasterCard, or American Express.

Preferred credit cards
Though we do accept all major credit cards, we prefer Visa or MasterCard.

Parking
Free parking is provided for all guests. There is one parking space for each room. If you bring more than one vehicle, you must park the additional vehicle(s) on the street during the overnight hours, as we cannot guarantee that we will have space for it during busy times, and it will take parking away from other guests with just one vehicle. There is no parking available for trailers, campers, motor-homes, RVs, etc. Motorcycles must park at least 2 to a spot. Please consult with Guest Services if you have any questions about parking at the hotel.

Special Requests
While we always make every effort to accommodate any special requests, please keep in mind that they are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. The Villager is a 2 level building, and we do not have an elevator. If anyone in your party has mobility issues that affect their ability to climb stairs, please let us know well in advance so that we can make arrangements for the room to be on the ground level.

Smoking Policy
All of our rooms at the Villager are non-smoking. In accordance with Maine State Law, we request that you smoke at least 20 feet away from the building.

Service Dog Policy

We welcome Service Dogs as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Witham Family Hotels complies with the ADA, state, and local laws regarding Service Animals.

If bringing a service dog. we ask that you inform our team at the time of booking so we can prepare for your arrival. Service dogs are to remain under the control of the owner, whether by voice command, leash, or harness and may not be left unattended in your hotel room. A service animal may be asked to leave the premises if either (a) it is a direct threat to the health or safety of others, or (2) it would result in substantial physical damage to the property of others, or (3) it substantially interferes with the reasonable enjoyment of the accommodations by others.

Guests traveling with a service dog will not be charged a pet cleaning fee. However, charges may be incurred, should a service animal damage or soil the premises.

Pet & Emotional Support Animal (ESA) Policy
We love pets, but they are not allowed on property.

Animals, including emotional support, comfort, or companion animals are not considered service animals under the ADA and/or state and local laws, and are not allowed on the premises. We reserve the right to not provide accommodations or ask a guest to leave the premises should they be in violation of this policy.

Our usual cancellation policy will apply.

Quiet Hours Policy

The Bar Harbor Villager Motel observes quiet hours from 9pm to 7am for the comfort and safety of all of our guests. We are very strict about enforcing this policy and we have overnight security on the property to ensure that all of our guests can enjoy a restful night’s sleep.

House Rules
There is absolutely no smoking, cooking or pets allowed in our guest rooms. For the benefit of future guests, we are very strict about this policy and may impose a fee of $150.00 for any infractions. We also reserve the right to assess a fee of $150.00 for excessive cleaning due to offensive odors or excessive wear caused by a guest(s).
